A Project Two and a Half Years in the Making
First Light is the vision of writer-director-producer Alex Kerai, a sophomore undergraduate student at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in upstate New York. Kerai began writing the script while a senior in high school and worked with faculty advisor Grant Holly at Hobart and William Smith to turn his first draft into a shooting script. Professor Holly recommended he direct the script during his sophomore Fall. This is the story of the process and the film that resulted: First Light.
